I never get these tickets, every fucking year same ol nonsense, it is becoming clear to be that it is not the Will of God that I attend such a show, for I began this very thread and every breath of my life in giving God the glory and all the praise, in saying by the grace of God, hence if it is not a success, it is not in God's grace, and eternity is more fullfilling then radiohead anyways, after all, most of you seem to think them terrible to begin with, though I cant for the life of me figure that one out...

As much as one can be a fan of any band, it is so not worth getting upset about missing them live. I've learned that the actual experience of seeing a band live vastly pales in comparison to seeing or hearing a recording of that live performance. I learned this lesson about the Stones in the 70s. For one thing, I could never get close enough to the stage to make out the band as any more than miniature stick figures. Two, the sound usually sucked because of the acoustics of the place. But then a recording, even a bootleg recording, of the same performance would sound tons better--often because it was run through the sound board.

Same goes with actually seeing the band. Photos in the magazines captured the drama or whatever much better than the eye.

I think it's great that bands tour, but as I said, unless they're playing a small and very accessible place, I prefer to experence their tours vicariously.

I feel sorry for you :( .
I had many wonderful live concert experiences, with good sound, near the stage and so on. Especially with sy and radiohead, this applies also for quite big open air gigs... not the biggest stadiums or anything THAT big, anyways...

you are only partially correct. for a show like the Hollywood bowl, which is 18,000-20,000 capacity, the energy is beyond electric, it is uncomparable in Los Angeles, there is no other shows like huge Bowl shows here in town. further, you look silly dancing by yourself in yr bedroom, and even at radiohead, I-man is no wallflower... shit I danced to every song at the sonic youth Arthurfest show and looked like a complete fool, but had the time of my life. I had a straight religious experience and an Epiphany of high magnitude at Sonic Youth at the Troubadour in 2004, a show which I camped out on the street in Hollywood to get tickted for..

plus, I have been trying to get tickets for radiohead for 8 years now, and so it sort of like, a serious thing on my To Do List, that I would sort of like to achieve. Of course I already said, God's will be done, and I am not necessarily upset as much as anxious or dissappointed. However, hope is not lost, I can still try on Saturday.

Ha ha. Why would you feel sorry for me for not doing what I don't like to do? I hate crowds, and I generally hate the concert experience. We're all suppose to experience this big Woodstockian communal joy at big concerts or something? That is so bogus.

Don't get me wrong. I love live music. I love live bands in small club settings but beyond that, fuck it, I say. You shouldn't feel sorry for me just because I don't share your interest in this. *scratching head*
