He stands like a statue,
Becomes part of the machine.
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean.
plays by intuition,
The digit counters fowl.
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

Glice 06.09.2006 12:17 PM

Rubbish. I'm going to beat someone at literati, as I am rubbish at pinball.

If you can beat my score of 185,995,000 edit:(now 213 million) for Starsky & Hutch pinball, then you win four discs of your choice from my bootleg collection shipped free to your U.S. address.

Starsky & Hutch pinball is by far the best free online pinball game on the internet. It plays pretty close to a real machine. It's very addictive.
Read the rules section to get a feel of how to play the "machine". You may need to turn off your sticky keys. You'll see what I mean. I actually switched to a better keyboard I had around & now have no problems.

There's jackpots, extra balls, multi-ball, sound effects... all that...

Пятхъдесят Шест 12.29.2006 06:44 PM

I'm going to beat you!

k-krack 12.30.2006 04:28 PM

I got 5968000.

Trasher02 12.30.2006 04:29 PM

I'm not afraid of you and i will beat your ass.

atari 2600 12.30.2006 08:37 PM

Given me neg rep for beating you at pinball, tut tut.

atari 2600 12.30.2006 08:47 PM

You've got no manners.

You've got no screenshot.

You've got no U.S. address.

You've said that already.

And it made as little sense first time.

Naw, the neg rep was for the following:

1. You've got no manners.
He wrote something like:

I didn't quote Pookie's comment. I just wrote back in the post following that his "bile was amusing" since I hadn't played this game since I started this thread back in March. Someone bumped it the other day, and then I bumped it with the challenge.

2. You've got no screenshot.
Just a claim that you scored higher.

3. You've got no U.S. address.
And this may be the reason you didn't take a screenshot
screenshit...
screenphotoshop...

Still fuzzy?

The above is the post you'll probably next claim you never were aware of, yet your original post before you deleted it was that you had beaten the score!

And then I made a cup of tea and scratched my arse, for those following the developments.

(And at some point Atari corrected my grammar, but I can't remember exactly when)

EDIT: Just to keep the viewers up to date with developments, you gave me the neg rep before I posted that.

You are correct on both counts. I didn't go into that because the post was already getting long, and hence, confusing for possible readers.

He ended the statement with a preposition, which isn't always technically that grammatically incorrect as it is informal. It still isn't grammatically correct though.

He had written something like:
"I beat your score with 195,000,000 but I have a life to tend to."

And so the stomach turns...

Pookie 12.30.2006 09:08 PM

I can't keep up with your post edits.

You need to think before you post, then you wouldn't have to keep editing.

EDIT: You've done it again!

EDIT II: Incidentally, the post when I mentioned my score didn't mention Atari (although in his head it probably did).

Hey, this post editing is fun. I'm going to go back to all my posts and make them much wittier.

We could delete them all, but that neg rep you gave me for beating your pinball score will remain burned into my heart.

Well, just hit me back, jack.

Your feigned sadness (poor baby) makes it worthwhile for me, and I fully expect to be backslapped anyway.

haha

Anybody else watching this Giants at Redskins game?

Bit out of order, no?

atari 2600 12.30.2006 09:31 PM

That's what's known as a "typical idiot" stunt.
To make up a quote that was supposedly deleted.
I guess you had the groundwork laid though, so begrudgingly, I will give you some kudos.

Are there gradations of "kudos," or is it that one either gives their "kudos" of approval or simply doesn't?

Hey, just wondering...is this typical of the (in your words) "life you have to tend to?"

Is it that you just wile the hours away impiously fucking with people on the internet (albeit discriminately), making up lies, and being disingenuous overall?

Pos.:

Kudo - singular
Kudos - plural
Kudi - multiple
Heca-kudos - 8 or more kudos
Mecha-heca-kudos - 80 or more kudos
Hyper-mecha-heca-kudos - 800 or more kudos
Uber-kudos - In excess of 1,800 kudos

Neg.:

Unkudo - Negative singular of kudo
Unkudos - Negative plural of kudo
etc

Neut.:

Meh, or often saying nothing (esp. Brit.) .

atari 2600 12.30.2006 09:46 PM

That is some answer! It can't be real though haha.

Heca-kudos!

I knew there was such thing as some kudos. Heheeh

Oh good, I can rep you again.

Shouldn't this be deca-octa-kudos?

But seriously, if "kudo" is a word, and so is "kudos" then it follows that there are single units of "kudo" to award.

I was actually anticipating a response that intmated that heca- wasn't actually a numerical prefix, given that I appear, on a cursory research recce, to have fabricated it entirely from my mind. The closest is hecta-, which is nothing like what I was saying. Still, kudo for the thought.

atari 2600 12.30.2006 10:00 PM

Your use of "heca-" had me thinking "hectare" or "hepta-."

stu666 02.09.2008 09:34 AM

how long did tit take to get that score?

atari 2600 02.09.2008 10:08 AM

The game didn't run much longer than a typical game, although I had two or three free balls in total. A good portion of the points (around 100 million of them) come from a huge bonus at the end of the final ball. I had a 4X bonus already from ball 4, then from the urban informant got a +5X bonus and then a hold bonusX; the final bonus for ball 5 was x9 for a hundred million or so.

If one could manage to get these types of end bonuses by ball 1 or 2 (as opposed to the final two balls like I did), then they'd have a chance to beat this score.

I haven't played this in a long while.
http://starskyandhutchmovie.warnerbros.com/pinball/
After getting 98 mil when I played it the other day, I tried again and got the 231 mil hi-score yesterday.

PAULYBEE2656 02.10.2008 05:54 AM

just got a 7,672,000
