Oh, you're good.

That's alright, CCC - I don't take that as an insult coming from you.
|
good. i'd even go for a beer with you for sure. i suppose i wouldn't have to tell anybody what you are
|
Just another English drunkard -that would do. I'd take you to one of the many fine "straight" boozers in London - nice beer and good times had everywhere.
|
i'll be allowed out in another three weeks if all goes well (i stop hitting people:o ) so maybe (i will) some people can meet the re(a)l sam
|
Yay! Nice one, sir.
|
I disagree with The Clash. Combat Rock would be my second favorite of theirs easily if they would have cut off Red Angel Dragnet and Overpowered by Funk. Sandinista! can be a fantastic mindfuck of an album if you take the time to get used to it.
If yr talking about Cut the Crap, though, then I agree. Also, Pere Ubu have been falling from grace for the past two and a half decades. |
the rolling stones
rem pink floyd dinosaur jr. black sabbath the clash basically every band |
Women as Lovers is awful, so I definitely agree with Xiu Xiu.
Hot Hot Heat -- fuck yeah I forgot how awesome they used to be! |
Cat Power was never good.
|
Can - first albums were (and still are) peerless, their final albums were embarrassing drivel.
|
Good call. Same for Hawkwind.

and the misfits |
earth a.d. is pretty good.
(the misfits are glenn danzig and jerry only, if one or the other are not in the band, they are not the misfits.) |
well. you understand though. compare "halloween" with "saturday night"
|
Fuck I saw one of the new misfits line ups and it was just awful.
|
i saw them twice, once with marky ramone, the other with robo, both times with dez cadena and jerry only. both were tons of fun with a block of solid boredom in the middle.
|
Cat Power was never "good" but I love her then and now regardless. She's probably the only consistently sloppy performer who I can't get enough of.
I do love her new polished sound though... and I'd also suck the keyboard player, as long as he got rid of that ugly fucking hair. |

the first time, dez sang "rise above"
the second time they played "jealous again", "thirsty and miserable", "fix me" and "rise above". dez singing, sounding like it was 1980 again. |
Judas Priest's most mature and professional album was their first one, Rocka Rolla. Little by little, they went downhill with each album after that, so that by the mid '80s, they looked like a bunch of silly middle-aged men playing childish bubblegum for below-average 10-year olds. Turbo (1985, I believe) makes the first two Partridge Family albums sound like Larks Tongues in Aspic. I'd rather listen to those old LPs anytime.
|
I think Rocka Rolla's pretty awful, but their best stuff is definitely from the 70s. My favorite is Sad Wings Of Destiny.

turbo is fucking hilarious, last time i saw them play, that was the most fun i had during their set, when they played "turbo lover".
|
Ramones (though they still had good songs on each album).
I disagee with Television. Of course, Adventure and Television couldn't live up to Marquee Moon, but they're still very good albums, far from bad. |
Smashing Pumpkins
Weezer Rolling Stones Mercury Rev Flaming Lips Foo Fighters |

wow, when they came here, they did absolutely no black flag material, it was jerry/dez/marky lineup, at least one song would have been nice |
Mogwai, unfortunately.
|
Black Flag for me showed the most rapid decline of any band I like.
I disagree with The Clash. In their short existance (five years from first to last album), they barely put a musical foot wrong. I also disagree with whoever said Pere Ubu. Great start, mediocre middle period and a recent return to greatness. |
guns n roses (duh)
metallica (duh) napalm |
death
obituary morbid angel all early 90s death metal bands that didnt break up in time the greatful dead |
I'm almost loathe to say this, but I'd add Godlflesh to the mix - the first 3 albums are amazing (esp. "Streetcleaner"), but from then on, each new release was a case of diminishing returns.

SPK
Psychic TV |
Sutcliffe Bloody Jugend.
"Campaign" = Genius "Pigdaddy" = Ha ha ha ha ha haaaaa! |

Philip Best one did a "review" of "Metal Dance", that said "Even with a whore fronting the band, they still can't get into the charts". Ah, them were the days...
|
Monster Magnet.
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Unsane. |
Primal Scream - they were actually quite OK on the first LP and "Screamadelica", but as for the rest of their oeuvre, well.....
