that one flotzers posted is not the real one. this is the real one: I SEE NOSE HAIRS! |
as a political entity, she is pretty hot
|
yeah but nosehairs are a no no my friend
|
my thoughts:
mccain obviously wants someone the opposite of him. she's young and she's a woman. she's really young and he's really old! yes yes, of course he wants the female votes! mccain is hoping for a piece of ass. it's gotta be hard to jack with a dead hand. she was only elected in a state that's predominantly male because she's bangable. she's probably way hotter than the guy she ran against wearing the paul bunyan plaid shirt. ps: thanks mccain... i think you just got obama elected. |

The fact that she is the GILF sure didn't hurt, but in the last election, IMO, Alaska couldn't go wrong. She ran against Tony Knowles (D) who had two very sucessful terms as Gov (in AK, you can serve as long as you can but only in two sucessive terms at a time) and Andrew Halcro (I) who was a very sucessful, if short, time on the Anchorage Assembly. No, she really is a smart cookie. Pretty much everyone in Alaska respects her. Again, not fond of her abortion stance but it was a very smart move on McCain's part. |
|
All these commentators keep saying that pissed off Hilary supporters are now going to vote for McCain cause of this chick.
Huh!? Sara Palin's politics are nearly totally opposite those of Hilary. Unless we all think women are stupid and will just vote for another vagina, there aren't any women who were going to vote for Hilary that will now vote McCain simply because of his VP choice. |
She, with prior knowledge, did not terminate her pregnancy and had a baby with Downs Syndrome.
|
Who cares about her. Really. Another politician who's as corrupt as the rest of them.
The only "politician" I've ever liked was Harvey Milk, and look what fate he suffered... |
so can we basically all agree that mccain completely shot himself in the foot today?
|
Yup.
Can I join yr Libertarian party? I'll bring the tequila and old man grumpiness. Once again - anarchy is the way forward... |
anarchy doesn't solve anything either.
|
may i just be the first to say
this bitch is FUG ![]() |
Casper - Nope, sure don't, but it's the only political system I have any empathy with now. I'm thinking about the anarchy as practised by the Crass commune in the late 70's/early 80's, or the anarchy as practised by The Ex now. Local communties/caring is the only way to engage w/people, in my shrunken-headed opinion.

If she is, she has done a pretty good job of covering it up. She's about as squeeky clean as they come. I could almost believe that 'troopergate' was created as democratic sabotage. That whole thing was kinda weird. I do agree with yr anarchy stance though. Will it work? Dunno 'til you've tried! |

It would take a MASSIVE change in people's attitudes, you're dead on there. I still feel that there IS an alternative to what we (at least in the UK) have now. We here in the UK need to learn how to fight back and give a shit about each other again....a very tall order, but it is possible...

america is all about me myself and i and will never be about anything else, not in this generation's lifetime anyway. WE THE PEOPLE is irrelevant in 2008. obsolete.

No, I think that she will bring in a new group of voters. She won't move Hilliarites but she will get more people registered much like Obama has done. A very wise move on Mcain's part. These next few months will be very interesting. |

Disagree. Mere media fodder. Meanwhile, the real power behind the throne carry on as per normal. |
no, i think it was a good move... because right now Obama is getting all the press, so for McCain to go out and grab a gilf is pretty smart. right now he needs some pub, and this may have done just that.

Hmm. That's only because of the country's blind spot where Alaska is concerned. Really, she's going to turn into a serious boost for Mccain. She doesn't have much experience but what she has is extremely positive. Don't get me wrong, I will be voting for Obama but this was a really good move for him. It will NOT be a cakewalk for Obama. |

Well, I certainly can't disagree with the last part. Although I bet Rove is rolling in his grave--oh darn, he's still alive isn't he? |
And, I must say, it seems quite appropriate that I have achieved the rank of "little trouble girl" while posting about Sarah
Ya know, I should reintroduce myself. I spent the first 3/4 of my life in the NY/NJ area and then moved to Alaska. I worked at a TV station* where I was exposed to a lot of Alaska politics--one of the reasons I left (to go back to NJ--HA!). I left just as the 'troopergate' thing was breaking. Alaskan's really are on a first name basis. Despite its size, it really is a small place--everything happens in a very small area so you really know all of what's going on. During the govenor's race, we (the state) really got to know the three candidates. And honestly, this was the first sane gov's election in Alaska in the time I was there. Lindauer = carpetbagger, Frank was a joke, an asshole and a failure--told the people what they wanted to hear and got elected. But Frank certainly made it a lot easier for Sarah. So this is really exciting for me. Sarah's name has been discussed for months but never really seriously. I was surprised when it wasn't on the pundits 'short list'. I was NOT surprised when I found out (here) that she was nominated. Sarah Palin has a pair (at least) of brass cajones. She would make an excellant VP. I would not be concerned if John kicked it. Sarah could step in without a problem. As I said earlier, but for the abortion thing, I think she would have been a kick ass VP for Obama. Think about that! |
