gmku, he/she just said that he/she dreads to think.
i´m an idiot, dread to think, seems funny to me.

i have to take whatever i can get.

gmku 12.04.2009 08:11 PM

You're REALLY bringing me down on a Friday night. Why didn't I stay at the wedge. Please PM me if this gets any worse.

knox 12.04.2009 08:12 PM

oh i wanted to see that one, toni collette, i like her.

gmku 12.04.2009 08:22 PM

Eh? Yeh, what was weird for me was seeing the name Mary Beth Hurt in the credits at the end. I was like wtf and then I realized it must've been 'the wife' in the last segment. I actually met her when I was at the U of I a few years ago. Even shook her hand. Man, but Mary Beth has NOT aged well.

knox 12.04.2009 08:26 PM

the film , isnt it that one

gmku 12.04.2009 08:27 PM

Think so. Remind me, who is Collette?

gmku 12.04.2009 08:32 PM

Yes? Sorry, is the bubbly kicking in? Nap time?

knox 12.04.2009 08:35 PM

gmku 12.04.2009 08:37 PM

Oh, yes. She is very very good in this movie. I was sorry that her part was limited to the first 1/4 of the movie. Probably the highight of the movie, in my opinion.

gmku 12.04.2009 09:03 PM

Hey, knox, good news--I just found The Dead Girl is available for free via Sundance On Demand. Just go to the cable channel On Demand Free Movies menu, under Sundance.

knox 12.04.2009 09:16 PM

but...i have never heard of such channel.
thank you tho.

ni'k 12.04.2009 09:18 PM

i got my teeth done today, fillings.

it was great. she froze my mouth, and the noise of one of the drills was amazing, i wanted to ask what it was so i could use it in music but could barely talk with all that shit in my mouth.

i don't know if it sounded so cool because it was in my own mouth, but im sure the effect could be replicated with a bit of bass added

jon boy 12.04.2009 10:38 PM

when i got my wisdom tooth out it was the most amazing sound i have ever heard. it was so great. i knew there was no way to possible record it, because the most amazing part of it is that it was coming from inside my own skull. it had to be broken in little pieces but it was so musical.

i dont understand why people are scared of the dentist, i love it, to be honest.

Yeah, there's quite a list of fucked up shit done by Albert Fish.

Writing to the mother of the girl he abducted about how her cooked flesh tasted is one.

knox 12.05.2009 09:42 AM

god that fucking letter.

the funny thing is the part that disturbed the most is about china, i wonder if that was true.

Along with that they have an "On Demand" channel where you can pick from a selection of movies to watch any time for free.

My On Demand also has a bunch of other movies, more recent stuff, that you can pay to watch for around 3-5 bucks.

knox 12.05.2009 11:54 AM

No, i have old cable because I'm old school.

gmku 12.05.2009 11:55 AM

Ok. I thought all cable was digital now. Well, if you can check out the movie somehow, do so. It's pretty good.

davenotdead 12.05.2009 11:57 AM

i also love going to the dentist

A fictional character linked to a historical person a la "Hannibal the Cannibal."

ploesj 12.05.2009 06:01 PM

yesterday i stuffed myself with delicious vegearian food for three euros.

knox 12.05.2009 06:02 PM

now this becomes saturday thread.

gmku 12.05.2009 06:05 PM

I have just stuffed myself with 4 slices of the most incredible pizza: it has chopped walnuts, pesto, blue cheese, mozarella cheese, and garlic. Incredible. On a beautiful locally-made dough. I'm saving the rest for tomorrow.

Drinking with an IPA from a growler from the Wedge. Also incredible stuff.

Wondering what my wife means when she tells me that when we get together I tend to smother her. What the fuck.

um i don't know. i tried on a wedding dress at a secondhand shop and had chinese food. that pizza sounds like heaven.

knox 12.05.2009 06:40 PM

tell me about the pizza dough and how you cooked it. I am as anal about pizza as you are about beer. Now the choice of topping was spot-on.

got another bottle of that prosecco thing and work to do.

gmku 12.05.2009 06:41 PM

Yes. I hadn't seen this combination ever before. So delicious. No tomato sauce, only pesto.

knox 12.05.2009 06:42 PM

yes, but tell me about the dough.
or did you order this pizza?

if you tell me you BOUGHT the dough ill be inclined to think you're not as serious about pizza as you are about thick beer.

I got from the deli of this organic grocery store I frequent. Sort of thickish, hand-tossed like. I cooked it until the edges got a bit brown and the cheese was well melted and just startiing to get crusty. Then let it sit for about 10 minutes.

knox 12.05.2009 06:45 PM

Now, allow me to be anal. You do not BUY pizza dough. You do NOT cook it in a gas oven. Sure, you can call that pizza, but it's not.
That'd be like a pizza-ish toast.

gmku 12.05.2009 06:46 PM

Sorry, it's the best I can do. And for the record, I bought the whole pizza at the deli, i.e., not just the dough but the whole pizza, and also, I didn't cook it in a gas oven but rather an electric oven, at about 400 for 30 minutes.

Oh, shit, I forgot to mention--also slices of portobello mushrooms!

knox 12.05.2009 06:51 PM

well, you did the best you could do.
another thing you could have done: some fresh rocket on it after it comes out of the oven and/or parma ham.

gmku 12.05.2009 06:53 PM

OK, just for complete accuracy, I'll quote from the label: Victory garden bakehouse pizza dough (unbleached flour, filtered water, expeller pressed, sunflower oil, salt, yeast, sugar), pesto (canola oil, parmesan cheese, fresh garlic, rice vinegar, salt, black pepper), blue cheese, walnuts, portabella mushrooms. SELL BY: 12/08/09.

gmku 12.05.2009 07:02 PM
