Tool are one of those bands where, if questioned, I'd probably say something like "all Tool fans are retards who should be shot at birth". And then I remember that I have at least 5 very close friends who adore them. Same with Zappa.

Pavement are a band I enjoy hating. Much better sport than, say, Travis.

I'm strangely fascinated by just how utterly shit Cradle of Filth are.

Ah, now, Cradle I actually own a few records by, precisely because their absolute rubbishness is strangely compelling. There's something about a band so entirely preposterous that eludes criticism.

*Edit: having said that, Nymphetamine was a record so bad even a mother would kick it in its ugly face.

There's something about the thought of people old enough to get bowel cancer, dressing up like characters from hellraiser and generally acting like they're from Norwich.

i used to hate radiohead by principle, but then i listened to their music and i liked it

i loved the doors in 10th grade....but i just put on the soft parade and by jove this album sucks

I don't think there's any... I used to enjoy hating Metallica, because everyone liked them and I didn't, but then I listened to Master of Puppets and changed my mind.

I used to like to hate on the Grateful Dead - but so many of their fans are in the closet these days that it's not as much fun. I don't hate them nearly as much as I like to twist the tits of their fans.
