oh yeah. but the drew thing always bothered me- he got nominated for every freaking award come the choice awards season.

samuel- haha. i didn't even know they still print it!

Sonic Youth 37 07.24.2008 10:33 AM

Yeah, Drew and Nickelodeon just seem weird. I don't think many kids that were watching Legends of the Hidden Temple or Double Dare were watching the Drew Carey Show or Whose Line is It Anyway?...well, the last one doesn't matter because it was still a British show at the time, I think.

i can't be bothered to read this whole thread.

but i like my name a lot, don't know why though.

screamingskull 07.24.2008 10:40 AM

i spent the whole of my childhood, and most of my teens hating my name.

Now i like it, its really unusual, but a little too long.

i always hated when the kids would have NO fucking idea how to put together the shrine of the silver monkey. that continues to irk me to this day.

i for one wasn't watching those. nickelodeon mag was weird sometimes.

Sonic Youth 37 07.24.2008 10:43 AM

The first season, it was a little forgivable, but after that all the kids should have know that you put the base on with tail toward you, the next piece with the arms facing away from you, and you jam the head on facing away from you. And you've got to take your mouthguard out when you shout the password.

schizophrenicroom 07.24.2008 10:44 AM

haha, they'd be going "uhhadha!" when they were trying to say "feather". and it's a 3 piece monkey! i don't know why this stuff is bothering me now, but it is.

Sonic Youth 37 07.24.2008 10:48 AM

Or wasting time trying to find the key in the trees (which would ALWAYS have a temple guard) instead of just breaking through the wall. Nick Arcade was the worst for me, though. I could never understand why some kids could never find the Start button in the final challenge when they were in the video game. They'd waste 30 seconds trying to jump and hit the start button.

I think I'd rather be known as Hello Brooklyn, but I wouldn't be shy about using Yeah Detroit!

sometimes i would get so much glee out of the kids being taken away by the guards. idiot kids.

nick arcade pissed me off.

floatingslowly- right now i'm leaning towards What The Hell's Up Cleveland for a boy or Oh My God Hi Daytona for a girl.

floatingslowly 07.24.2008 10:53 AM

Now that's a cool name.

schizophrenicroom 07.24.2008 11:16 AM

he was an awesome black kid that went by "thad". i'm pretty positive he's related to a girl i know by the name of peaches.

neither of them, though, share blood with shantasia. as in fantasia, the disney feature, with an "sh".
