I am willing to agree but on the other hand, bands with the most retarded ideologies tend to make crappy music. I'll admit that i don't know a great deal about white supremacy bands, but the ones i've heard are just plain shit.

Apart from that i am all for keeping politics out of music. There are way too many bands/musicians out there who think that the world need their opinions about stuff. Shut up and play.

To me it's pretty obvious that the appeal lies in the noise and lo-fi ethics/aesthetics.

I think it´s the media that is interested in the opinions of the pop stars (specially if they have opinions or ideologies that are not commonly accepted). And the pop stars really have had power to affect their fans opinions and they have also used it since the sixties (Beatles etc.)

Anyway the quality of the music is the most interesting thing to me. But I have to admit many musicians lives are interesting and many musicians have interesting way of thinking.

better listen the music than the stupid politics...it's all about music his interesting about black metal ( well not the genuine black metal but this alternative way, more atmospheric, more worry to explore the sound...the dark side of the sound ha! ha! )...weird association for someone who sang "youth against the fascism" years ago...!

Well, strike me down with a feather - for once, tesla might be onto something here. I lost all interest in black metal once I'd read up on just how many BM bands held racist/fascist/homophobic/anti-Semitic/Islamophobic etc viewpoints. No surprise also to discover that black metal distributor Alex Kurtagic (owner of BM distro outfit Supernal Music) attends New Right meetings in the UK, and is a close associate of Troy Southgate, amonsgt others. And Will Browning (former Combat 18 head honcho and No Remorse "singer") has been attending black metal concerts of late and also distributes BM albums as well. And also, Terrroizer magazine in the UK continue to put Varg Vikernes on their covers, in spite of overwhelming documentation of his own brand of fascism.

I for one don't believe you can separate the music and politics in black metal (or in anything, for that matter). The idea that Vikernes doesn't pen openly fascist lyrics (and should therefore be left alone) is a straw man position, and frankly risible - he's a violent fascist and should be opposed on every level.

As for Thurston Moore and his black metal band - oh dear, silly Thurston. Can't imagine his fellow Stoke Newington neighbours being down with the BM brigade!

Why? They should be no platformed, end of story.

Just heard the whole album. It´s the most boring album I´ve heard where Thurston is playing. Doesn´t bother me anymore it didn´t came on vinyl. And I´m glad I never have to hear it again.
