i have been enjoying each minute of it..
i've alredy posted this elsewhere, but it excited me.. one of the first reviews.... |
Yes "come on down to the river" is another self-rep.
And opposite, I like how Thurston sings in Thunderclap. |
I agree with the vocals on Sacred Trickster and Calming the Snake. I think Kim sounded much better live. I can still rock hard to Sacred Trickster, but I think the vocal production almost ruined Calming the Snake. It's a shame because it could have been great.
|
I don't mind the reverb too much, though it would have been fine without it
|
its a real damn good album..im liking it more on every listen......

Yeah. I was really getting into that song until Kim started singing. Oh well. |

I am into that, too. Quote:
it's probably my favourite songs from a new album. |
The Eternal material could become a fine album maybe, if produced right. By Jim e.g. Good producer could correct main defects, improve some melodies, help with adding bridges, make them sing better till it's good enough... and ban these awful Lee's songs. That's what I think.

This is about the most absurd thing I've ever read here. Production is for MTV crap. |

ever tried to read yr own posts? |

easy guys. you can't tell anything more about the production, because you can't hear it at 128kb/s. what is more, sonic youth are not a band that cares much about production, it's all about music, energy, lyrics and all that. they are not a band that is on radio all the time, or at mtv2, you know? |

want to release my album? |

Trolling on the internet is such a thing for the ultimate idiot. Godspeed horrific recession, so youngsters in Russia will be more busy sucking off the guy handing over bread at the top of the queue, rather than searching for fame and fortune on an internet site.

i will think about it! |

Of course. I'm an obsessive proof reader. Are you an A+R guy? |

"searching for fame and fortune on an internet site" with several posts against yr thousands?

You don't have to be that predictable and pointless.

you are right, there are obviously emberrassing mistakes in many songs. The Gap-Fillers, when they try to get from one melodie into the other also dont work for me anymore. but i still like some songs. |

You know the poster you're replying to, and orchestrating the trolling with him/her. You are both very silly. |
Try harder.

What's with the friggin' lynch mob in these parts? Not everyone has to LOVE the new album. I don't. It's really not a big deal.
|
It's not a lynch mob at all (at least when it concerns me, I don't care about what you think about SY albums, really). It's just obvious provocation that is stupid. Grow the fuck up.
|
Well maybe that's what it's led to. I just think the reason this is blown up like this is because nobody can stand to see anyone have a different opinion on this board.
|
Really?
|
Are you one of them, Danny?
|
I have no problem with people not sharing my opinion. It's when they sign
onto this board for the sole purpose of bitching and baiting other posters. |

Touché. Except not really. I've not jumped to either radical pro-Eternal or anti-Eternal gunship like everybody seems to be, attacking people who've got a different view on it. It'd be fine if it was about discussion, but people just seem to be taking stupid pot shots at eachother now and it's pathetic. |

I feel dirty now for having posted about it. Unclean!

Can you name those posters? I haven't read most of this thread, so that would help. |
