"I Dreamed I Dream" Tonight on the Sopranos Sunday 4/29
SONIC ON THE SOPRANOS
'I Dreamed I Dream' from the 'Sonic Youth' EP will be used in the soundtrack of the popular television program 'The Sopranos.' The episode first airs on April 29. 9pm Eastern Time |
i watched the episode...didn't hear it..if anyone did,where?
|
I didn't either.
bummed The show is airing again in a minute. I don't think I could have missed it, but I suppose it's possible, because I think I got up a couple of times. Nancy Sinatra does "Big Boss Man" (different than the traditional) in a cameo. "Goin' Down Slow" by Howlin' Wolf plays in a casino scene, and again during the close. Maybe SY was to be at the end instead but got cut, or maybe it's just going to actually be in another upcoming episode. |
same here, i didnt hear it at all, figured they were gonna play it thru the credits, but no

John Cooper Clarke's "Evidently Chickentown" closed the previous week's (glorious) episode, and one imagines it may have been a jarring choice for some viewers, so I can't see why "I Dreamed I Dream" would be cut this week. The runaway paranoid delusion would be that some focus group coerced Chase to change his mind about the music selection and that's just too out there. It must be some date confusion.
Then again, "Goin' Down Slow" did (slightly suspiciously) play twice and today was the date we were given in SONIC YOUTH NEWS. |
I heard Courtney Love wouldn't allow them to use the Sonic Youth sounds.
|
OOPS
The Nancy Sinatra song was "Bossman," and not "Big Boss Man." |

was that Urge Overkills Emmaline playing in Sopranos in last night episode? i know for sure the song was Emmaline, but it almost sounded different than the UO version
|
I think that was the original Hot Chocolate version.

I watched episode 18 last night, and I was shocked by what happened. Had it coming though... if you know what I mean. It's gotta be one of the darkest episodes ever. Can't wait to see what happens in the final three. Enjoy! Ps: No spoilers please. |
i saw it.was sonic youth music in it?...didn't hear it...again
|
yeah, again.
wtf? This is craziness. Although, I guess it means it's in the very last series finale episode. (at this point) >keeps fingers crossed< |
Tonight's episode was fucking awesome, I expecting nothing less then a bloodbath next week.

i rent the dvds of the sopranos and watch them in my own time, you silly pothead. |
Fuck
I missed it but it sounds cool though and that is a great SY tune. |
Lame.... it didn't seem to be on this week either. HBO is probably keeping a tight lip about EVERYTHING in the show; hence, it was probably never accurately conveyed when the song will appear.
Though, it will be total redemption if it appears on the finale. |
Oh and it was an excellent episode on Sunday... I still can't predict how the finale will unfold. I love how the Sopranos writing has such a film-quality, it really never seems like you are watching television. I have been tense watching this whole season given that is the last one.
|
Who thinks Tony will get killed in the finale? This is about speculation, NOT spoilers!!!! I think the popular opinion as Sunday looms is that AJ might get killed, and Tony will live. I believe Tony will live by the time the credits roll.

Something's gotta happen to him, he can't just go out of that mess all innocent. Or maybe he'll run away to Italy. |

I think when it comes to Tony, he does things that end up affecting everyone else around him, I think he's actions are a catclysm that end up ultimately screwing up members of his gang, and his family members. In the end he survives but ultimately winds up alone in a hell of his own making. |
Tony seemed to already be in a hell of his own making by the end of "The Blue Comet."
There are rumors, which Sopranos creator David Chase denies, that the finale will be left open-ended enough for a full-length feature film to be made. Hey, maybe Tony will introduce Phil's gang to his little friend, go crazy and in his bloodlust, also go and try to kill Dr. Melfi haha and then get killed himself...by Dr. Melfi hehe. Not likely, but I thought it was good for a laugh. More likely is that he will appeal to the FBI agent for assistance or possibly become a witness. The last one was fairly telegraphed. The amount of camera time directly on Bobby in the scene in the hobby store made no sense unless he was about to get whacked, so you knew it was coming; and hence the title of the ep "The Blue Comet" (for the toy train). Sil does a dirty deed in the beginning (to have us lose a bit of sympathy) and then gets shot multiple times though the car. I suppose Silvio in a coma or something now. Leotardo and company didn't put a hit out on Paulie because they figure they can co-opt him after...I'm anxious to see how that part is gonna play out. |
wtf is goin on? are they gonna play it next week?? no word???
i want paulie to be the last man standing |

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping is going on also. |

Wow, I just heard it. It was almost embarrasing, it was playing in another room in Bada Bind so you could hear it as if a door was closed. It was just the bass and drums.
|

wow i didn't hear it..i believe you...i'll have to check it out tommorow thanks for mentioning it cuz i just assumed the song got cut......'the ending of the show was unusual |
It played...for about 5 seconds coming from the Bing stage. Like boots inferred, it's not something to scour youtube for. Turn the treble all the way down and the bass up on your system. Sounds just like that...
But, they did make the show. And I thought it was a terrific ending. (flame on) |
That ending.... will be talked about.
|
yeah i finally heard it.that scene could have been in any of the past couple of episodes...so it could have been orginally edited into the june 3rd episode.so am i to assume that one of the girls at the bada bing likes to dance to sonic youth....awesome
