The surprising thing about young fools is how many survive to become old fools.

Hip Priest 06.16.2007 12:22 PM

HECKLER SPRAY 06.16.2007 12:26 PM

The only thing that comes to us without effort is old age.

It's the free travel pass that really sells the idea of old age.

That feeling passes by the time you hit about thirty. Then you get to your mid-thirties and realise that the members of cool new bands are about half your age, and it hits you again. Then you stop worrying about it. I did, anyway.

HECKLER SPRAY 06.16.2007 12:34 PM

Don't complain about growing old - many, many people do not have that privilege.

I'm often surprised by how young board members are here. I mean that in a nice way.

I never wanted to get any older than 18, you're still young but at the same time legally old enough to do whatever the hell you like (at least in the UK). That Pink Floyd song Time is seeming more relevent by the year.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say

Hip Priest 06.16.2007 12:39 PM

I wonder how young the board's youngest-ever regular poster has been. You must be in with a shout at 14. I think there may have been a few 14s, actually.

ondskan 06.16.2007 12:39 PM

I'm 18 when usefull, otherwise i'll stick to my lame 15.

ploesj 06.16.2007 12:49 PM

Well, every nine-year-old should really know 405 ways to look hot at every party, or else they'll never get any sweet action.
