I Put A Fish In A Blender... On Purpose
kinda... my roomate bought a blender, one of those really hip ones that looks all retro & what not. she bring sit home & plugs it in... doesn't work, and she threw away the receipt. so in a drunken stupor i decide to turn it into a fish tank. i cut the electrical cord off of it, cleaned it out, went and bought a green beta (to which i affectionately named mordecai) and put some rocks over the blades so the little guy doesn't cut himself. so now i have a fish in a blender/fish tank. you should have heard me explaining to the little timid high school girl @ petsmart about how i wanted to put a fish in a blender... awesome.

my mom tried to serve me fish for dinner...with the skin and tail still on, thinking i might eat it if she cut the head off first. HA!

if it's fried crispy, it's delicious. you've never eaten trout? i pity american children, fed from cans... |
You're pretty condescending for someone who chose to live here on purpose.

I like that all this ingenuity and work was done in a drunken stupor.
And Mordecai is an excellent fish name. |

i'm @ work right now, but i'll take a pic tomorrow... look pretty funny having a blender in the living room i must say.
|
i ate fish the other day, also trout, delish.
|
I've only had trout once, I don't think I was all that keen on it. I love red mullet (snapper) though - it was red mullet that put an end to me being totally veggie.
|
I enjoy fish, it is either fish or chicken for me. I try not to eat much red meat.

well if you eat shrimp, stop calling yourself veggie. that gets my goat. folk who say they are vegetarian and still eat fish! how can you not like fish except shrimp? shrimp are like the maggot of the sea.......... fish rules... my favourite swordfish, marlin, rainbow trout, herring (usually raw), pearch (freshwater fish, very delicate), red snapper, red mullet, mackrel, salmon barbequed!, shark, grouper, oh and sea bass...... amazing fish! i was brought up on shellfish, mussels, cockles, scollops, etc but i developed an allergy around 7 or 8 years ago. got violently ill after a plate of mussels. i thought it was a once off so i tried em again 6 months afterwards and got even worse. its a sickness i wouldnt wish upon my worst enemy. at one point i literally thought i was going to die, ive never seen that much vomit.......... |
its not very much space for a fishy

this thread reminded me about this thing from a few years ago

I really only like shrimp if it's scampi or in alfredo (which isn't all that healthy). I've had it raw a few times, but if I eat too much I'll get a stomach ache. In the end, I guess I'm sort of a pescetarian, but I don't like to get too technical with things. |
Catholics also don't consider fish meat when they give up meat for lent.
But what do they know. |
yeah but fish is only consumed on a friday!
angella makesa fair point but really vegetarians dont eat any living animal be it a cow, pig, fish, horse or whatever. the catholic thing is just a traditional thing and very few catholics, me included, give up red meat for lent anymore. also eating raw shrimp is kinda dangerous isnt it? |
