Thanks for asking! My health isn't too great, I have insurnace now, and am on 3 different medications for my stomach. I don't have much energy, and this has kind of effected my filmmaking at the moment (I have 2 movies and an aniamted series started, with videos/animations/music finished but haven't had the energy to finish 'em.. yet). So, that sucks.

"Artistically", it seems like scissor shock's psychic existentialism did really well (3 people have said it's their favorite album of the year; it sold out EXTREMELY quickly at the label; most importantly, I am really happy with it)... the songs I'm writing for my next album are a thousand times better than this stuff though. Sicne every album I do is completely different than the one before it, expect to be driven insane by GHOSTLOP (tentative title).. junk percussion fills the detuned bass-driven highly atmospheric songs.. homemade instruments, acoustic guitars, finger tapped electric guitars delayed to hel and back.. trombones and trumpets in a mostly instrumental album that can best be described as "broken detuned free junk-jazz", though there'll be female vocals, chanting, and i'll multi track my vocals to sound like a choir from hell. expect that whenever it's done. But yeah, psychic existentialism was a big album, I'm really happy blastitude liked it (since has EXCELLENT tastes), climax golden twin liked it, and even people who didn't like previosu efforts enjoyed it. robe. is finsihed for now. we did 55 albums, and we climaxed with an appearance in RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE, as well as our double tape set NIGHT TEROR, which is BY FAR our best album (if you want it digitally, here ya go: megaupload.com/?d=SQT58RDU ... it is mostly comprised of long horn solos, but there are some excursions into detuned bass, doom guitars, and tribal drumming. As far as my movies... they're showing blaze the pot smoknig deer season 1 on a public access show in oregon, and I have worked on part of season 2.. as soon as it's done, I'm going to send tot adult swim. Whee.

Also, my movie CURRENTLY UNTITLED has been EXTREMELY well-received, palying at festivals, wininng awards, and called film of the year on some blogs and "the best experimental film of all time" by a guy on cinemageddon. Wow!So, artistically, things are great, and going to get better once I move. I have saved up enough money to take a year or two off of work and focus exclusively on my work.. I'm going to start a record label called NOT MUSIC.

NOT MUSIC will release:

- my albums
- my movies (though I will continue to release stuff through other labels)
- my comic books
- my paintings
- my novels
- my friend's stuff

I will package everything I do really cheaply and sell it cheaply, though I will make everything I do highly personal.. like I won't just sell you a $5 cd-r, I'll sell you a $5 cd-r, with an exclusive painting... I won't just sell you an $8 movie, I'll sell you that movie, plus a never-before-seen short film that will never be released and will be deleted from my hard drive as soon as I burn it and send it your way.

Basically, if I quit my job but spend a year doing the record label thing, y'know.. REALLY doing it... and also working on movies and music and stuff.. I think it'll be great... I also think I will be happy, since is the most important thing...

I will be moving out very soon. Blaze season 1 is currenly airing iun oregon as part of a public access show... blaze season 2, when it's finished, will be submitted to adult siwm when it's finished, as a pilot...

Me and my girlfriend just celebrated our one year anniversary. I love her. After being cheated on by my ex-old-lady (who still owes me $200), I thought I was done with women. but my ew one has completely reconfigured my views of the world. She likes watching Giuseppe Andrews and Takeshi Kitano movies with me, so I love her. She's also the most artistic girl I've ever met, and she is a BRILLIANT piano and cello player, also possessing a beautiful singing voice. She recognized the brilliance of Beefheart right away -- my last girlfriend had dismissed him as "too abrasive" right away.

So, all in all, things are going pretty good. I like my shitty job. I've been able to cope with my health.. I just don't eat very much, though I do drink a lot. I kicked my pill habbit for the most part, though I got some other, eh, bad habits that I'm working on.

Probably the best thing I did in this past year was get a Dreamcast!

I quit, I get kicked out of my house. My mom and stepdad have no respect for me, they use me to no end, they take advantage of me, I've given my mom a thousand dollars in the past year, and I gave her $2000 the year before that, for free. She still wants more. My stepdad is a dickhead.

Anyway I'm moving out soon.

Things are bad, but I'm part time anyway, so that works, I make a lot of money, and every day I work I save up even more.

I just have one problem.. I can't think of anything that sounds, eh, polite. I dunno, "Rimjob", "tossing my salad", "ass to mouth"... it all sounds gross. I like vulgar, gross, filthy, dirty, nasty sex.. but I don't like to SAY it, it sounds silly. Usually, I just kinda get a look in my eye and pull my pants down and I spread my ass cheeks and she knows what to do. Still, it'd be nice to introduce some kind of sexiness into it... "lick that dirty asshole" is nice when we're being really nasty, but sometimes I want to be, I dunno... sweet.

I'm sure people will find this message gross, but in all seriousness, rimjobs are the BEST. You haven't expericed true sexual pleasure until you've had one. Best = putting a pair of thick glasses on my girlfriend, getting naked and sitting right on her mouth, having her grab my ass and spread it apart as she tongues the hell out it and I blow my load on her face.

Well, that counts comps, ep's, double albums, and 10 cd's from our 24 hour set. So, it's not 55 albums, it's 55 folders on the guy I work with's computer. I bet we've done 15 real albums, in 4 1/2 years. Which still seems like a lot but you have to keep in mind that we would release anything through anyone who asked when we first started out. I also wasn't on quite a few of those albums, so they were out of my hand. Long story. But yeah.

Adam, I'm sorry to hear that about your job situation. At least you're moving out ASAP. Be sure to mail them a turd once you move - Pink Flamingos style.

I am always happy to read a good honest long-winded post from you, adam. Have you gotten DUX or DRILL? They're fan-made games that are actually pretty decent. DUX in particular has really weird graphics... colorful as hell.. hard hard hard game. I would reccomend plenty of other games before them but they're inpsiirng since one dude did all the art/grahpics/programming/music/etc.

Thinking of preordering it honestly. SHMUPS are my favorite genre of game, by far. I have 17 for the Dreamcast, 33 for the PS1, 19 for the PS2 (though that includes Capcom Classics Collection and Taito Legends and shit which has a shitton of Shmups on one game.. also includes Red Star which is part Contra, part Devil May Cry, part Streets of Rage, and part Gradius), and then all of 'em for the SNES/Genesis/NES. My other favorite genre is puzzle (Tetris Attack, Puzzle Fighter, Mr. Driller, Puyo Puyo, Gunpey, Bombastic, and so on), 2D fighter (Guilty Gear!!!!!!!!), and strategy (Disgaea, Soul Nomad, Phantom Brave, Stella Deus, Growlanser, Makai Kingdom, La Pucelle, and so on).

I also LOVE "games made by one or two dudes in a basement". ALIEN HOMINID was totally one of my favorite games from last gen, and Castle Crasher sis really fucking fun too. When my girlfriend moves out with me in a month or two, we're getting her wii, and I'm going to be playing a shit ton of motherfuckin WiiWare games (CAVE STORY ON THE WII! FUCK YEAH! MEGA MAN 9 AND 10! WHOO!!!!O THER GAMES!).

Joe, get Cave Story asap. I'm trying to get someone who port that fucking thing to the Dreamcast. It's freeware and like 1mb. I fucking love it. I have played it for 2 hours. Imagine Super Metroid for the NES (but, y'know, not the original Metroid). Fun as hell!

Never heard of Armada. I didn't like Elemental Gimmcik Gear very much. It was kinda just goofy. As a huge RPG fan, it just felt really silly and insubstantial. There were times when it felt like it was trying to be Landstalker, and when it switched to the 3D robot battles, that was sorta neat (though not in the epic way I was hoping -- this ain't no Xenogears/Saga). But man, it was just such a silly game, the reason I put it on my list at all was for the music and destroying stuff when you spin around. I wasn't much of a fan. I deleted my save game last week actually, I was 9 hours into it. Felt kinda like a kid's game, but then some of the enemies took off way too much health (not the bosses, just regular enemies). It felt INSANELY like a PS1 game, like Granstream Saga or Azure Dreams, one of those.. but not as good. I dunno. Running around and killing enemies brought to mind some Enix games at times, Terranigma and such, but man, when the DC has Grandia II and Skies of Arcadia.. I dunno... those games were epic and awesome. I respected what they were trying to do, but it felt unbalanced, and needed to be faster. It really did have some amazing colors and soundtrack though. Please play Landstalker or Beyond Oasis ASAP, they are very similiar in the "going-around-and-beating-shit-up-in-your-isometic-perspective' way.
