Karma

So, on saturday, i got mugged. The two black guys stole my phone and about £6.......i was slightly drunk, taking my girlfriend home at 1am. They said they had a knife, but i wasnt sure if i should risk my life and defend myself, if they really did have one, then idve probably bled to death on the pavement. So yeah, then on monday, i was walking around the local shopping center at about 6pm, when i was shocked and amazed to find £40 sitting in the middle of the pavement. Hardly anybody was around, and there was even a person that walked infront of me, past the two twenty pound notes. I considered handing it in, or if this was karma acting on me, and i was supposed to find this lucky sum of cash on the floor. Is there really is someone controlling fate for us? I didnt deserve to get mugged, so its like im being repayed..........do you think this is logical or coinsidental? My girlfriend thinks it was a big coinsidence and i shouldve handed it in. She says it was luck....what do you think?

Glad you're ok!

Glad to hear you're alright. I strongly believe the existance of karma. I got my stepdad's bike stolen a few weeks ago when helping out at my ex's high school. I was pretty dissapointed considering it wasn't even mine. A week later, I found a bike for $3.00 at a garage sale that was in better working condition than the one I was using :).

Karma really had a large impact on me in high school. I wasn't too respected, and was going through a typical teenage angst phase. I didn't really didn't like many people, and people wouldn't like me either. I put an effort into being a better person, and was rewarded back. It's great if you take advantage of karma!

And about the money; if nobody was around, then the probablility of finding the owner of the money is pretty slim. One time my mom found $100.00 on the ground (and this was in the 60's), and she found the owner of it, and the owner of it gave her a $1.00 reward. I find it rude to give somebody such a small amount though. Just a "thank you" would seem to be more polite than $1.00

you got rewarded for your effort and work, not karma. if karma exists then why go to work? Just become a super hero or a cop.

luxinterior 06.20.2006 07:03 PM

I already am a better person, and look where that's gotten me.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 06.20.2006 07:04 PM

well there you go.

Norma J 06.20.2006 07:28 PM

If it were just money on the pavement, then I would definitely not hand it in. It can never be returned to the rightful (or were they rightful?) owner.
If it were a wallet full of cash, thats a different story, I'd hand that in.

I was using it in comparison to the misfortune I recieved before. I believe in karma despite whether effort is included or not. Example: Punkerviolence ended up looking for money on the ground to make up for the money lost and found some.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 06.20.2006 07:41 PM

he wasnt looking for it though. just found it.

That's my exact point. Whether he was looking for it or not, karma still exists in the situation. If he looks for it, it does not defeat the purpose of karma.

Yeah i know....cos anybody could claim the money, but there is no proof it was actully theirs....in this case i think its finders keepers.
