tm in baltimore tomorrow? really?
i just received a text message from a friend which is either a vicious practical joke or a sign that god not only exists but actually might even love me. she told me that thurston moore is going to be playing w/ the northampton wools at floristree space in bmore, md. i just moved to bmore and have never heard of this venue before. i saw some reference to this online but nothing that i can justify as being solid evidence.
so tell me - is this really happening?!?! i'm praying.... ![]() |

okay. awesome! thank you moshe. you are always a life saver.
i'm hyperventilating w/ excitement now...one of the reasons i was unsure about moving here was because i was under the impression that sy would never visit this city again...yeah, i know.... does anybody know the address? they don't print it cuz its not even a legal venue. how about when the show starts? so....who else will be showing up? dammmmmn thurston, you are sooooooo cryptically awesome! |
so you moved to the greatest city in America, huh?

i'm not sure if yr being sarcastic or not but i will say that so far i totally fucking love baltimore. i've been in the area for the past four years but wasn't living in the city. i'm from new york city which is too elitist, expensive and non-grimy for me to handle right now. |

depends on where you're staying, i guess. i spent 3 months in Essex near East Roc projects and it was a fucking nightmare. so, yeah, I was kinda sarcastic. Fells Point is rad though. |

, Baltimore, |
i live in charles village which is a cute neighborhood in walking distance from a lot of relatively rad diy stuff.
i like the fact that i can go to shows and events here without mountains of cocaine popping up everywhere (not that i really judge...but at a point it get old and obnoxious...) i also enjoy how art seems to be a bit more accessible to the general public (as in stuff such as artscape.) plus, paying dirt cheep prices for rent also boosts my spirit... ya dig? and yeah....essex...i dont blame you. i was in towson for 4 years (3 of which were without a car...and there was one year i didn't have any friend with a car...) which, although not as bad, was still soul-sucking... |
8pm. awesome!
fortunately i was able to make a few phone calls and found out where that "venue" is....thank you so much! you rule moshe! |

yeah, i know what you're talking about. do you know the music store called Sound Garden in Fells Point? hell, I spent DAYS in that store, they used to have these comfy chairs where you just sat down, put a record on and just listened to the music as long as you wanted, without anyone bothering you. good times. |
Of course i know Sound Garden. that is where i bought my copy of The Eternal. There is another record store that i like around there called The Guro. Have you ever heard of that? it's a total whole in the wall but has great lps....
Towson wasn't even all that bad...I mean, Celebration Records had Mass Hysteri come a few months back...that was pretty neat! yeah, fells is swank. i'm personally a fan of the station north area...lately it has actually kinda been popping...even though dan deacon annoys me, i have to give him credit for pumping things up.... |
i kinda want to go and see balto once again, thanks this thread.
sucks it's on the other side of the planet. |
I cannot make this gig.
Sad Jenn. |

don't worry. apparently the show is dead which confirms that god is dead and all. |
what happened to the show?
|
moshe said that thurston is sick?
i refuse to believe it. nobody else around here has heard that though. it's gonna be crazy if they wind up having to turn everybody away... http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/showthread.php?t=33251 |
