Hi everyone, just got back from the show. Great set, solo w/ the hanging guitar, twin twin reverbs, and all the accessories you'd expect. I hadn't seem him do a solo set in a long time so it was pretty thrilling to have him in my hometown -- super tiny theatre, great loud sound, mesmerizing films. I've always loved the way Lee can shape a soundscape, that distinctive marriage of drone, echo, and ring modulation.
He also had an art show in conjunction w/ the festival - a number of cool pieces on display along w/ a film of him playing a 6 or 7-neck guitar (w/ accompanying soundtrack) running on a loop in the stairwell entering the space. Checked that out last night, pretty cool that people worked to make this happen in my small little hometown. Overall a fun couple of days, great to see Lee again, and the advance copy of his solo acoustic album sounds awesome!
(just kidding.)
