yes indeed I said this months ago, however I think the 2nd Amendment thing is ridiculous. Dragging Dr King's daughter into it was especially rich. It just fits into the prototypical stereotypes of "liberals" and frankly I think makes a lot of the Democrats look petty and self absorbed like I said above.
Point blank. I personally think the more mature way for the Democrats to have handled this was to say something like, "Well sure the 2nd Amendment comments might have been about voting, but what about all the other insinuations and outright calls for violence?"
See how that works? It offers something of an olive branch while more strictly focusing the issue on raising awareness about the overall vile rhetoric coming out of the Republicans for YEARS now. If we are all going to waste our time on the 2nd Amendment comments we miss the opportunity to discuss all the much worse things said.
