as far as what feelings shocking art creates, the unsuccessful kind, have noticed that it doesnt make me angry, it leaves me apathetic.

Whenever I go to a gallery and see work that makes me think and confront myself, I'm very greatful to the artist that made it. The reason for this is that it assures me that I'm not the only person dealing with hard issues.
The same goes for music. If I'm having a bad day, a Joy Division record can help me out of my depression. Works almost every time.
