i have this friend, used to be my teacher, when she was 17 she went to the gynecologist begging for a hysterectomy.

she lived her life etc. never wanting children, got divorced, then met this guy she was nuts about-- and started thinking differently-- i think her biological clock kicked in, or maybe it was being with this guy that changed her mind. then the guy (now husband) got a terminal disease & she wanted to have his son but that didnt work out.

years later (in her early 40s) she met another dude got pregnant & conceived a kid she's nuts about. she NO WAI wanted this earlier but now wouldnt trade her life.

now im not saying that you SHOULD want children or will EVER want them.

only that you'd better be absolutely sure before you make such a final decision in your life. better to keep your options open, you never know what's around the corner.

(and that's why i don't have any tattoos-- once it's there, you can't scrub it out).
