if fact crack pipes are known colloquially around here as "rose stems" or just "roses." i always thought this was rhymin slang for "crack stem" >>> "rose stem" >>> "rose."
i discovered the true origin of the slang when a local crackhead was begging money for a new pipe off me. he wanted me to go into the gas station and buy a "rose" for him. i'm like "what! i'm not going in there to buy a crackpipe for you! it's a gas station! assshole!" he's all like, "no, it's legal... just ask for one of the paper roses by the counter. say it's for yr girlfriend. c'mon man!"
