where i come from, "housewives" are far from "locked up cleaning shit"-- they have maids for that-- & their time is spent in here's been called "social contact" (licit or otherwise) and causes & classes & all manner of entertaintment as well as the raising of the offspring. then there's japan-- you go to college for it.

yes, i wasn't trying to say that housework is not necessarily meaningful. i personally however need to be doing projects with others or else i get seriously depressed.

also, housework also used to be a college major at many schools in the usa.
