Oh, and Saturday I drop in at my fave thrift shop and what do I find but, in my size and in perfect condition, a wide-wale heavy corduroy "hunters" sport coat by Ralph Lauren for 30 bucks. The fucker is so heavy, it'll be great outerwear when the temps drop. Nice generous outside pockets, sort of military style pouch-like with flaps, and big inside breast pockets. Also a notched collar, and what they call an "applied belt" in the back (looks like a belt-width piece of the fabric sewn in across the back about waist level). The only thing I wish it had were suede elbow patches. Maybe I can add those.
