thats not true. I have been talking to a lot of people on the street about this healthcare reform and it is not just a partisan issue..
many americans believe in the
myth of meritocracy and they are even offended at the idea of sharing their tax dollars with others. People believe in the "help yourself and help nobody else" philosophy in America across party lines.. it is one of the most depressing things about living here, apathy.
and in regards to Guantanamo and Afghanistan, that is not necessarily partisan either, a lot of americans are scared of the people at Guantanamo and they still buy into the Bush era rhetoric that the war in Afghanistan stops terrorist attacks in US and so they believe wrongly that if we pull out or release the prisoners in Cuba then suddenly Osama bin Laden will attack and kill us all.
